I have used duct tape to hold my trunk closed when hauling a new coffee table in my Honda Accord. I have also used duct tape to make a hold a tap on that was used to store drinks for a cook out.

This is a cool list but I thinmk my uses should be added lol. :)

Duct taped my phone battery to my phone when the back plastic backing that holds it in place fell off. Accidentally dropped it in the toilet today, and the thing STILL RANG UNDERWATER because the seal of the duct tape was so tight. Pretty cool stuff.

Once, long after any stores were closed, I had to do a swap of a disk drive in a customer's machine. The new drive was a different size and did not come with mounting brackets for the machine it had to go in.

This was a 24 x 7 operation - they gave me fifteen minutes of downtime to get the new drive in..

I duct taped the stupid thing in place with cardboard spacers.. I was so embarrassed that I left a note inside the machine explaining why I had to do what I had to do :-)

I've seen a guy use duct tape as his halloween costume. He just wrapped his whole body in it (probably over his clothes--otherwise it would have really hurt taking it off).

Techies are often also members of offbeat and/or obscure special interest groups, like the S.C.A. (Society for Creative Anachronism). We love duct tape! I is so useful for repairing our rattan swords and home-made shields, not to mention the some of the tattered camping gear we use. Duct On!
